Dr. Adams specializes in the treatment of painful body issues. His patients come in with both acute and chronic conditions. There is a focus on fixing structural imbalances and the muscular responses which often naturally follow those imbalances. When appropriate, home exercises and self-care are given.
Most patients find they only need to come for one or two visits, often getting relief from the very first treatment. In case of trauma (such as a car crash) multiple visits are scheduled, because the injuries need to be managed and monitored to make sure healing is progressing as it should. Some other chronic conditions require more regular care, but the vast majority of people get relief without having to come back for frequent visits. It is always up to the patient to decide to schedule their next appointment.
If we can’t help you, we’ll refer you to someone who can.
Working on the muscles should be an integral part of any therapy designed to help with physical symptoms. Dr. Adams uses heat and does deep tissue therapeutic massage with every patient to support any adjustments delivered. This is important because if the muscles are relaxed, less force can be used, and the adjustments tend to hold better if the muscles are relaxed.
Dr. Adams has several techniques he uses to help his patients. In general, his technique is very gentle, using primarily the Thompson Drop Table Technique with regular chiropractic adjustments when appropriate. He is also certified as an Activator Adjuster, and some patients prefer that gentle technique.
